People may forget what you said. People may forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel
— Maya Angelou

The role of the Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) is to provide the appropriate care and psychological therapeutic support for each service user.

An RMN is considered in situations wherein the individual service user’s psychological or psychiatric state is high risk, in which they may cause harm to themselves or others around them. An RMN is also required when the service user is at a lower risk level, however they are distressed at a high level and are in need or psychological care.

An example of this can involve helping the individual service user to recover from their illness or to come to terms with their illness in order to lead a positive life moving forward. In order to provide the best care for each individual service user, RMN’s would work collaboratively with other care staff in order to maintain a consistent all round professional care service to the individual service user.
